5:30 - 6am Consumers take up, get dressed in their bedrooms and make their beds. Staff work with Consumers in their bedrooms or bathroom on choosing appropriate clothing, brushing teeth and hair, applying deodorant, shaving (if needed), applying make-up (if needed), etc.
6:00 - 6am Breakfast in the dining room. Consumers help in the kitchen with breakfast preparation from table setting to cooking. The focus at mealtime is previewing the day's schedule.
6:30 - 6am Until consumers leave for day programs, household chores are done. Staff work with consumers on bed making, vacuuming, dusting, dishwashing, emptying trash and keeping rooms and personal possessions in order.
8:30 - 2pm Weekdays. Consumers attend day programs. The director maintains consistent, close contact with each consumer's supervisor. The objectives of the day programs are reinforced and continued at our home. In case of consumer illness, staff will be on call.
Also during this time, the director will attend to all necessary business, including program planning and management, scheduling and attending appointments for consumers.
8:30 - 10am Holidays and Weekends. Consumers complete household chores and then have free time to look at books or magazines, listen to music, socialize or help prepare lunch.
10:00 - 4pm Consumers participate in group outing or individual activities, such as picnics and outdoor games, cultural events, movies and beach trips. When in session, consumers may participate and compete in the Special Olympics and attend the Institute of Abundant Living. On Sundays, they can attend church. Special all-day outings include going to Paramount's Great America, Oakland A's baseball games and fishing trips.
Consumers are also encouraged to contact and visit friends with staff assistance. This is a time when they can learn community awareness and public transportation skills.
4 - 4:45pm Afternoon chores are completed. Consumers arrive home from day activities. They may participate in structured indoor activities such as art, writing and card games in the living room or their bedroom, or take a short walk. In the bathroom, daily baths and shampoos are also begun.
Once a week consumers are involved in menu planning and food shopping. Weekdays they help prepare dinner with staff assistance in kitchen.
4:45-5:30pm Dinner in the dining area. The focus at dinnertime is socially oriented. Staff will work with residents on developing conversational skills as well as table manners.
5:30 - 6pm Kitchen clean up.
6:00 - 9pm Free or structured time in the living room. Evening activities include art or baking projects, watching a television special, and singing, staff or guest-led groups on hygiene, sexual development, yoga, Tai-Chi, clothing coordination, etc.
6:00 - 9pm Staff may also use this time for one-to-one counseling or activities with consumers in their bedrooms or in the living room and/or dining room.

Throughout our daily schedule, staff pay particular attention to the behavioral management and individual programming needs of each consumer.
